Organization History
Founded in 2004, Living Out Loud, Inc. originated from the collective vision of a group of passionate and committed women dedicated to advocating for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. They firmly believe that every person has the right to have a voice, realize their full learning potential, and lead a meaningful life within the community of their choice.
As a non-profit organization recognized under section 501(c)(3), Living Out Loud provides a comprehensive range of services designed to support both youth and adults, with a specific focus on individuals aged 18 to 70.
Progress to Success
Initially, the organization concentrated on establishing a robust foundation for its operations; however, as it has grown over the years, to include licensed services tailored for children with autism. These services encompass specialized therapeutic interventions designed to promote communication, social skills, and behavioral development.
Additionally, the organization provided after-school tutoring designed to assist students with disabilities in achieving their academic goals, thereby fostering an inclusive educational environment. Advocacy plays a crucial role in Living Out Loud's mission, particularly in empowering adults to self-direct their services through the implementation of person-centered planning. This approach emphasizes individualized support tailored to each person's unique needs and aspirations.
Here to Serve
In 2013, Living Out Loud achieved licensure as a provider under the Developmental Disabilities Administration, significantly enhancing its capacity to support adults through Personal Support and Individual Support Services. These services are designed to support individuals in performing daily living tasks, promoting independence, and facilitating access to essential community resources.
By 2021, the organization broadened its services to encompass Employment Services and Community Development, including Career Exploration, Transportation, Nursing Support, and Respite services under the Home and Community Pathways waiver.
